Design 1005 Andante
Andante was designed and built for Walter N. Rothschild, former president of the Abraham & Straus department store chain. He was the great-grandson of a founder of Abraham & Straus, Abraham Abraham, representing the fourth generation of his family to serve as the company's president. The chain was based in Brooklyn, New York, and once comprised 18 department stores across the New York metropolitan region.
She was constructed of wood by Abeking & Rasmussen of Germany and launched in 1954.
